when I was looking for a first machine, I was scoffed at by a sales lady for wanting a mechanical machine. while the computerized machines are really cool, I wanted a machine to learn the skills on before I upgraded. spoiler alert, i did not buy a machine from her. I did, however, fall in love with a fancy Janome that I plan on buying once I'm more confident in my skills.

I’ve had my Husquavarna Opal for 13 years . Never had 1 problem only cleaning . It’s been a outstanding sewing machine !

My mom has an older, computerized Husqvarna Viking that I am in love with. It sews so beautifully. I love going to her house to sew! I have 2 Brothers and a Janome, myself. All are computerized. While I love my very fancy Brother, I live my less fancy Janome. It will sew anything without complaint. If something goes wrong, it's me doing something dumb versus it doing something awful. Now, off to do some sewing!

I have a £4.5k Bernina and a collection of vintage Singers that found me - given the choice I use my 1958 Singer 320k, no fuss, no faffs - she just sews beautifully

I've been sewing since childhood, I have that brother machine and it has handled everything thing I've thrown at it beautifully. I mainly sew bags (tote, backpacks, makeup, and zipper pouches) but I also up cycle a ton of denim for said bags 😁

I have a Husqvarna Interlude 445 that is over 20yrs old and I still love it. I have sewn on others but I still prefer Husqvarna.

I started with a cheap singer, then moved up to a more expensive singer, and my mom bought me a nice Brother machine. I’m thinking of upgrading and that first one you showed sounds like a dream!
