S-PRIDE :
We, the Indigenous Melanesian people of Papua, have suffered for decades under violence, militarization, land theft, censorship, and exploitation by the Indonesian government and oligarchic powers. The film Pesta Babi reflects realities that many Papuans experience in our homeland.
Foreign journalists and independent organizations are restricted from entering Papua because the government fears the world will see the truth. Indigenous voices, churches, activists, and communities are often silenced, threatened, accused of treason, or cut off through internet shutdowns.
We call on the international community, human rights organizations, churches, and global media to pressure the Indonesian government, protect Indigenous Papuans, and stop the violence and destruction of our ancestral lands.
Papua is not empty land. Papua has its people, history, and voice — and we ask the world to listen.
