Haemorrhoids (also known as piles) are lumps (enlarged veins) found in and around the anus. They can be both internal as well as external. People are only aware of external ones. People can be very embarrassed by their haemorrhoids, but in truth, they're very common and nothing to be ashamed about. In fact, some people may not even realise they have them. When I perform DRE internal exams and identify internal haemorrhoids, most of my patients don’t even know they have them. However, when inflamed, haemorrhoids can be swollen, painful and cause bleeding (leaving bright red blood on the tissue after wiping). As I am in the position at work that I am exposed to bums for a majority of my time, and the truth that it’s not uncommon to see patients of both sexes who present with severe, untreated and debilitatingly painful hemorrhoids. Haemorrhoids are often caused by constipation and straining. But frequently occur during pregnancy, being overweight, ongoing diarrhea, and prolonged heavy lifting. There are four different stages of haemorrhoids. Depending on which one you are at, haemorrhoids usually go away on their own once the cause is removed or resolved. (This is where I come in). The first advice is to treat the cause rather than the symptoms. There are some tools I can teach you to support improvements of this as well as some nutritional support to help. However, if you notice blood in your stool, it's always important you consult with your doctor/ GP to ensure nothing else is going on down there. The same will apply if your hemorrhoids are constantly giving you grief! People with hemorrhoids commonly and comfortably receive colonics, however, if your haemorrhoids are active, meaning they are currently swollen / painful / inflamed / bleeding. If you struggle with constipation or diarrhoea or pain in your back side please contact the Medical Mindset Coach today to restore balance to your bowel and make going to the toilet a painless and even pleasant experience. Click link in the bio to either book in a consultation to discuss further and get some support tools / nutrition support / colonics. #colonic #haemorrhoids #gut health
