@monstrofarm: Fungus gnat solution… This Spider Plant has actually been doing great, so the second I started noticing a few fungus gnats flying around, I knew I wanted to catch the problem early. A lot of times with plants, I’ve learned you don’t always need to completely restart everything right away. Sometimes one small correction is enough to shift things back in the right direction. before I knew what I was doing I planted my trailing plant in a massive decorative pot that's way too heavy to move and it's grown so big and wrapped around everything that it would take me a whole day to sort out and fungus gnats love it so I'm having to wait ages for the top layer to become bone dry before watering but the new shoots and stems are huge and healthy so I must be doing something right

Nope.. Tried this and the fungus gnats just decided to go in through the drain holes 😢 So now I add sand to the top and bottom of my plants.. No more gnats! Harder to tell if it needs water but I just water a little every week. Seems to work for me 😃

I was suffering from the same problem, so I had to move most of my plants to the clay stones.

I usually do a hydrogen peroxide watering as well to kill the gnat eggs and get sticky traps. 1 cup of water to 1 cup of peroxide. hope that helps.
