American who moved to Germany here. I absolutely agree with him and myself will not go back right now, and I've also advised my native German boyfriend not to as well. Maybe one day if *every* single political leader has been replaced, and if *every* single one of the systems there has been destroyed, erased, and rebuilt better. But that'll NEVER happen...So sadly, I will likely never see my homeland again. Maybe other privileged Americans will say I'm exaggerating, but their viewpoints are worth nothing to my personal experience growing up there and living there.

My oldest son spent his 11th grade 2024/2025 school year in the U.S. Full disclosure, we are Americans living in Germany since 2012. He had an amazing experience, but I am not encouraging his little brother to do the same. Things are just too chaotic now.
