As a former barista, I wouldn’t tell them about the chain, I would just say the person in front of them paid for them. I hate when people try to guilt someone into paying for another. Coercion isn’t goodwill.

nah when I worked at starbucks giving chains are so sweet but I just tell the next person that the card machine isn't working so the drink is on us bc 99% of the time the next drink is way more expensive and they shouldn't feel inclined to pay it forward, I think its mor special that the one person gets a small blessing for the day

Someone paid for my $15 Starbucks order so I asked how much the order was behind me and it’s was $30… I was like uhhh no thanks. The drive thru barista made me feel better though and was like “yeah I wouldn’t have paid for them either”😂😂
