Yes, even the word Britain can only be explained using Albanian: Bri ton (our horn) and referred to Britain as being the horn of the Roman Empire. However, this came later: after the Roman incursion into the British isles. But I have been able to decipher many words that have only etymological account in Albanian: Secure (Sigur: Si Gur: like rock, or safe or sturdy like rock). Mountain (Mbantan: Mban Tan: holds all or everything). Know (Njoh). Erudite (E ru di: protector of knowledge). See (shē: to see) but also Sy: Eyes. And there are many, many more!

The similarity comes from ancient roots. Words like Albion, Alba, and Alps may share older Indo-European roots connected to meanings like “white,” “mountain,” or “high land,” but historians do not see medieval Scotland and modern Albania as the same cultural or historical entity.
