@in.good.hands.collective: A LOT of babies “hate” tummy time because it’s hard and they don’t have the intrinsic (self) motivation to do hard things yet. We have to provide the motivation for them by changing the time of day, duration, position, & environment with hard tasks (like tummy time) TIME of day: if I said you had to work out today and it could be in the morning after you’ve eaten and had time to wake up or at the end of the day when you’re exhausted, which would you choose? Tummy time with your baby when they’re hungry or tired generally does not promote their best effort. DURATION: if I said your workout could be 6 minutes or 60 minutes, which would you choose? Your baby will likely give you much better participation in short bursts! POSITION: you can either lay down to do your workout or upright with a weighted vest. Which sounds easier? Your baby benefits from elevated positions that give them more full body support. ENVIRONMENT: if you could work out in your stuffy basement alone or outside in nice weather with your friend, what sounds more enticing? Your baby might need a change of scenery or even caregiver to reignite their flame. If your baby hates tummy time, change one (or all) of these things 👊🏻 #tummytime
