@alrightgov: Former Health Secretary Alan Milburn 'frustrated' with people assuming rises in National Insurance and the minimum wage to blame for falling job opportunities for young people #UKNews #KeirStarmer #Labour #UKPolitics #rachelreevesmp
Nothing to do with him being a former Labour minister 🤣

Who is saying “If Rachael hadn’t done this then everything in the garden would be rosey”. I think it’s more her “growth” policies have made a bad situation worse.

Oh my god get real! It’s obvious what had caused this, the tax burden on small employers! It’s not rocket science

These were terrible policies and many people said so at the time. However there has been little to promote growing the economy and increasing state pension age stops people from retiring.

Another government spokesman. By the time the report was published the problem was embedded. I’m betting he cannot offer a solution

This dance between the main parties of borrow or save is the same economic policy. We could actually step back from global capitalism and not give massive tax breaks to corporations, but it would mean stepping back from the world stage too, not being one of the largest economies in the world, and I don’t think people want that either

Easy solution is to let the market decide the wages, when I get a quote to mend my roof, I shop around, I look at the work involved and decide what a reasonable amount would be, whoever gets paid for that work is non of my business,

So you’re the government looking at employment specifically young employment and decide on a scale it’s a 7/10 problem. You then step back and choose a course of action that makes it an 8/10 problem. Yeah right

she did spill the water in the glass with the cherry on top.... she made inflationary policies and economic drag policies at a time the economy needed impulse.

But why is he referencing the chancellor. And saying it’s not the issue. Then precedes to talk about proper analysis - so the analysis then. It could be the issue, but I suspect there are multiple challenges, but NI and NMW are contributing factors

There may be structural issues, but it doesn't let her off. Businesses said youth unemployment will go up, she did it anyway, it went up!

Maybe tell us the solution you’re proposing. This is a huge issue but politically he won’t tell us what he really thinks the solution is as it will embarrass Labour
