Letter for my አስራ ቤት እኔ Hi, አስራ ቤት እኔ 🤭 I miss you. Honestly, I do. I miss how beautifully you managed everything without even knowing how much life would eventually ask of you. You didn’t have much exposure to the world you know now but somehow you still knew how to live. You were active ! You poured your whole heart into whatever you were doing. You made time for people without the pressure and you laughed with them, you didn’t overthink every interaction or wondered whether you were too much, too loud, too sensitive, or too difficult to love. You were just… Pabo. You were so proud when Dad paid you after you washed his car. It wasn’t even about the amount you were happy because you earned something with your own hands. You saw someone interested in you and without questioning it a hundred times you believed that maybe you were loved. And I miss that የአስራ ቤት Pabo You grew up in a house where you had to learn things you shouldn’t have had to learn at young age. You learned to read moods,to notice silence, to understand tension before anyone said a word. You learned that sometimes keeping peace meant swallowing your own feelings. But somehow, you still remained soft. You didn’t know yet that one day you would have to unlearn the idea that love comes with fear and that peace means silence or that being needed means being responsible for everyone. I wish I could go back and tell you tho …….. None of what was broken around you was yours to fix. You were just a child. You deserved to simply be one. And maybe that’s why I miss you so much. Not because you knew more than I do now, but because you carried less. You loved without calculating. You laughed without protecting yourself. You trusted without needing proof. I hope somewhere inside all this growing up, I never completely lose you. I’m trying to find my way back to you in the balance of not to become who you were again but to give that little girl the life and safety she should have always had. I miss you, አስራ ቤት እኔ. And I’m sorry life made you grow up before you were ready.
