@emmaa.getsfitt: Dear loose skin, It’s time we talked. We’re 4 years deep now, I’ve booked the surgery to get rid of you twice, and cancelled both. I have no idea why I keep putting it off. I get so close to doing it and then something in me tells me to wait. Even though on paper you’re the last thing standing between me and the body I worked so hard for. Some days you bug me and some days I don’t even know you’re there. But you’re the only physical proof I have of where I started. You are the proof that I came out on the other side of the hardest years of my life. When I imagine you being gone it feels like I’m erasing the old me and I don’t think I’m as ready to say goodbye to her as I thought I would be by now. I think I’ve actually started accepting you, which I never thought I’d say. You still bug me some days, I still hate you some days, that part hasn’t fully gone away, but it does get a little easier the longer we do this. Maybe in a few months I’ll change my mind and finally go through with getting rid of you, but who knows. For now we’re here, and we keep healing!🫶🏻
