@voiceofimmigrants: 25 Ethiopian Nationals and Two Zambians Apprehended in Lusaka Immigration Operation LUSAKA, Zambia — The Lusaka Regional Immigration Office has apprehended twenty-five undocumented Ethiopian nationals and two Zambian suspects during an enforcement operation conducted on 23 May 2026 at Given Guest House in Matero. According to immigration authorities, the Ethiopian nationals, aged between 12 and 50 years, were found during a targeted operation aimed at combating illegal immigration and related activities. The two Zambian suspects, identified as Floyd Chiluba Mulenga, 27, and King Lingwabo, 35, were intercepted by Immigration Officers while allegedly attempting to leave the guest house in a white Toyota Vellfire bus bearing registration number ADE 5266. Seventeen Ethiopian nationals were reportedly on board the vehicle at the time. Following preliminary interrogations, the suspects allegedly directed officers to a room within the same guest house where eight additional Ethiopian nationals were discovered, bringing the total number apprehended to twenty-five. Immigration authorities confirmed that both the Ethiopian nationals and the two Zambian suspects remain in custody pending further investigations. The Department of Immigration stated that it will continue carrying out enforcement operations across the country to address illegal immigration and related offenses. Authorities have also urged members of the public to report suspected cases of illegal immigration and other unlawful activities to the nearest Immigration Office or relevant law enforcement agencies.
