@elainaefird: Eating a huge dinner after restricting all day does not erase the fact that your brain, muscles, hormones, and nervous system spent the previous 10+ hours underfueled. Even if you’re not hungry that’s only because your body learned to adapt and stopped sending those signals. Sort of like “the boy who cried wolf.” You’re better off fueling during the day to prevent increased stress, anxiety, bloating and muscle loss.

As a person still in recovery from an ED even though it's been decades that kind of content is very bad for me. My friend is the same. Thank you for spreading information that is real and helpful

It’s so hard to recover. Literally everyone at my job is on GLP-1s. I can’t bring myself to eat at work at all.

I went through a period of counting calories and it’s embarrassing how little I ate. If I tried to close the day and it said “you haven’t eaten enough calories” I felt like I won the day. Counted every little thing while also working out. Stopped weighing myself and turn it down every time I’m at the doctor. Mind you….my heaviest was 160 and I’m 5’5” and muscular. Disordered eating is not always obvious to the people around you.

Seeing this what I eat in a day content sucks because as someone with Pcos I try to do calorie deficit and it never works for me. I told my doctor I was eating 1,800 calories a day as an active person and she gasped and told me “wow that’s a lot” but in reality it’s normal? Seeing the 500 calorie a day is so triggering

I feel so many people push fasting as a healthy reason to not eat that many hours.

getting hunger cues back was genuinely one of the WORST parts of residential because we didn’t have an option of when we could have those 3 meals 3 snacks 😅😮‍💨😩

I feel like people are giving you and professionals like you a hard time for spreading truth and facts around eating habits and disordered eating. I find your content sooooooo helpful to combat what people are saying is normal eating. Thank you for continuing to fight this fight with and for those of us trying to recover from res. Ed’s and trying to familiarize ourselves with what is normal eating again THANK YOUUUUU 🥰

i’m struggling to eat through out the day. i know it’s not good for me. i’ll literally survive off of a granola bar and alani until i eat dinner at 6:30-7. it’s become more of a habit now and i don’t know how to stop doing that.

Peds GI here: the number of teens I see with this eating pattern is huge! They’re seeing me for their IBS, fatigue, bloating, constipation, in addition to their baseline stress and anxiety. Step one: let’s make a plan to properly nourish and hydrate your body throughout the day!

Oh I feel called out by this 😓 before work I’ll drink a protein drink and then not eat anything else during my 12 hour shift and then eating something small for supper when I get home. The goal is less than 1000 calories

People look at me in shock when I tell them I try to eat every 3/4 hours. My body naturally expects food every few hours or I get nauseous! I will never starve myself it’s just not healthy.

I had an eating disorder and didn’t believe my doctor at all. I was in such denial that I didn’t even accept it was one until a year or so after I was marked safe. The mind is so powerful.

I think counting calories is over rated. when I stopped counting and focused on portion size. I have lost weight consistently.

I’m literally not allowed to eat throughout the day at work. I have my lunch break and it’s a 9-10 hour day usually. I can feel the strain it puts on me.

I drink coffee in the morning with a fruit and then I have coffee at my 8-5 and then I eat dinner. That is very normal in my opinion

Between restricted intake and the "intermittent fasting" trend, people are losing sight of what actual NOURISHMENT looks like.

Honestly it’s just so hard to eat breakfast/lunch for me, i’m not hungry and if i force myself to eat i’ll feel unwell. And i’ve seen a gi doc, dietitian etc. I think people are just different and have different needs.
