I hate how people say she's just an incubator for airbenders. She's not an incubator, she's a mother who loves her children and has them because she wants to, not because Tenzin wants her just to restore the airbenders. They reduce her to just being a mother, as if that were inferior to anything else. It's ridiculous how they summarize that just because a character wanted to be a mother and nothing more, she's useless or inferior.

I've recently seen this idea that Tenzin wanted the kids so he kept getting Pema pregnant but I'm guessing he wanted to stop and she wanted to keep going. She is also a part of the flaws of the real adults. That she can't fully accept having benders as children. At least in this scene.
