@bluetsunami2026: Becky Shaw is everything that is right with playwrights today. Thank you Gina Gionfriddo. It’s scathing, dark, sharp, gasp out loud funny, emotionally manipulative, everything I love in a date..I mean in a play. Alden Ehrenreich gets his Tony nom in his Broadway debut which is a no-brainer, but his debut? Seriously? Give him the Tony on a silver platter please. Linda Emond was snubbed in my mind as the razor tongued mother. This ranks up there with Oh Mary, Liberation as top comedy plays of all-time. This is a play that probably is so much more enjoyable going into not knowing much about it, but as it is closing on June 14, 2026 I implore you to go see it if you’re in the NYC area. I know I say that about all the shows I put on here, but hey, I’m a sucker for great shows, and I don’t put them on here if I’m not a fan. BTW, not only was this Tony nominated for Best Revival of a Play, but it was a finalist for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Since this is closing in 2 weeks, I am putting on here a 25 min scene of 4 of the main characters which I think is so friggin funny. I’ll try and set it up as best as possible: Andrew, a compassionate but slightly naive office worker, sets up his newly hired temp, Becky, with his wife Suzanna's adoptive, abrasive brother, Max. Andrew describes Becky to his family as a "delicate melancholic in a transitional life space.” Within the scene, Suzanna is worried about her mother, Susan, who is not returning her calls and is dating a guy half her age named Lester. Enjoy. FDT HARD 💙 #broadway #broadwayisback #slimetutorial #fyp #summerinnyc @Zohran Mamdani @ladygaga @leamichele @P!NK @Joshua Henry @Layton Williams @Billy Porter @aarontveit
