With out Debbie Reynolds none of these dresses would exist. She spent the last half of her life saving and collecting Hollywood history especially customs, hoping someday to open Hollywood museum. The academy snooped her and she end up sell major pieces in auction (like marilyn monroe seven year itch dress, Audrey Hepburn gown from My Fair Lady, Charlie Chaplin hat and many more). I think the academy finally realized how important the collection is and reached a deal with her son who now own this collection.

The pleated ivory wind dress has her lip print inside of it from when she took it off. I know because i carried it when putting together a show when Givenchy was a guest designer at the Dallas Apparel Mart while working for Kim Dawson in the 90’s
