I’m a care manager and I think we are all being let down. What is expected with a package of care is ridiculous. We are not mental health workers, we are not nurses, we do not offer psychiatric help as we are not trained in those fields. We are expected to cover all these issues as it’s apparently a requirement. God bless her and her family, my thoughts and prayers go out to them… I hope she gets justice for this… absolutely despicable 🥲🥲🥲

This happened to me when working in mental health. Same diagnosis as the case you’re speaking of and I was sent alone in the home address, I remember leaving the call feeling uneasy and reported it to managers although I was told that I will be fine as nothing has happened before 😳

I wondered if her family could claim on the company's insurance. She had 4 children, so what future have they without their mum. Hope the company are seriously looked at, and not by CQC. I've talked to carers in Birmingham, London, and more big cities and the working conditions are awful 😞

I think it is probably down to adult social care, management get information regarding clients and what care hours/duties are required,as well as any risks. We then do our own assessment but if we don't have it in the paperwork from asc and the client or family haven't told us then I can see how staff would be put at risk, very sad
