I'm an accountant and looked at my HOA financials and budgets after they raised our dues by $25/month. they had a third party management company and I emailed them asking questions. LOTS of questions, wouldn't you know the next month they announced we were going with a new property management company

I work for a major city’s Parks Department and that is roughly what we spend in one order that lasts us the whole busy season. That’s insane.

I’m confused as to WHY the board feels it’s in the HOA’s best interest to NOT be concerned about overspending. Please look into where you can report this for a watchdog or authority to come do an actual audit where they can review your investigations and take it further and the HOA has to comply.

I've worked in complexes with multiple theatres with a total capacity around 5000 people. I've seen cleaning departments use less cleaning products in a quarter than that list. My money is on that cleaning contract being with a company who has a 1 degree of separation from the board member.

I work at a mid size hotel, we clean between 20-70 rooms a day and we maybe spend $2k on cleaning supplies. That's crazy for what was being described.
