The money is for the child period nothing else. I worked for family court attorney. I think the money should go into a trust and to get reimbursed as you show receipts on child upkeep and leftover goes to the child at 18

First, she’s wrong for booking a cruise before rent is paid, BUT, child support is a reimbursement to the custodial parent. My ex husband was ordered to pay 150 a week for 3 kids (I was lucky if he paid it once a month), but my kids NEVER went without. Mom had it under control. So, when he did pay every once in awhile, I could use it for whatever I wanted/needed. That’s how it’s set up in my state anyway.

My ex husband has always paid his child support. It always went to clothes, food, etc. I saved money from my pay check for travel. Now we are in a good space, but it wasn’t always like that.
