Update: The case has been dismissed. The deputy who issued the ticket actually requested the dismissal himself before it ever went to trial. A court hearing had been scheduled but was canceled after the charges were dropped. Katie confirmed on her TikTok that the citation was thrown out due to lack of evidence, though she still went down to the courthouse in person to get proof of the dismissal in hand.

The cop should have admitted right there and then he was wrong about what he thought he saw instead of writing a ticket that was wrong and not truthful. When this officers has his 6 month evaluation comes around if it was me I’d make sure this was all written down and added to his file. They have evaluations every 6 months. It makes a difference when there are negative situations added to an officer’s file. As well as good letters are always nice to have if warranted.
