@dauriya_nyc: Today, the FDNY firefighter who suffered critical injuries during the Staten Island shipyard explosion was released from the hospital. The incident happened Friday afternoon after firefighters responded to reports of a fire, heavy smoke, and workers trapped inside a basement area of the shipyard. While first responders were working the scene, a powerful explosion suddenly rocked the site. One civilian tragically lost their life, while more than 30 firefighters and emergency personnel were injured. The critically injured firefighter suffered a fractured skull and brain bleed caused by the shock wave of the blast. Today’s release from the hospital is a hopeful moment for the FDNY community and everyone following this tragic story.
