It’s 378 pavers. Thank God none of you are in construction. 12 feet is 144 inches. It would take 18-8in pavers to make that span. 14 feet is 168 inches which would be 21-8 in pavers. 18 rows of 21 pavers is 378.

He’s right, if you multiply 12 by 14 then you get 168 ft squared, and then if you convert that into inches you get 2,016 inches basically and divide that by 8 inches you get 252. So yeah that was right, 252 is the answer

((12x12)/8)x (14x12)/8) = not 252

12' x 14' = 168 sq.ft. times 144"( 144sq. inches in 1 sqft). Each square is 8"×8" (64 sq.in) So 168x144=24,192 sq.in. and 24,192÷64=378 squares, not 252.

My $.02 worth. 14 ft x 12” equals 168” across. Divided 168” by 8” to get 21 pavers across. Now 12 for x 12” to get 144” deep. Divide 144” by 8” to get 18 pavers deep. 21 pavers across multiplied by 18 pavers deep equals 378 pavers.

no. your logic here is mixing 1D and 2D measurements. 168ft², converting to in² is multiplying by 12²; 1ft² = 144in². 168(12²) = 24192. divide by your 8"x8" paver (64in²) is 378 pavers.

Or 12x14 =168 then 12/8=1.5 168 x 1.5=252

Siren :
12x14 is 168 sqft. those paving stones 8 sq in. 8 Sq inches is less than 1 soft so it has to be the larger number of 252.

Good to see the the ASVAB still has missing correct answers on it after 33 years when I took it in high school and called them out for it in the test center.

I also don’t get how you all think that taking 168 square feet and multiplying by 12 gets you the square inches of the box as that’s not even close to correct. So take the 168 and multiply by 144 which is what a square foot is in inches or take 12 feet 144x 14 feet which is 168. That’s 144x168 which is 24,192.

B. That’s it. If you need 168 feet and pavers aren’t even a foot long you know the answer is greater than 168. You do need to know 12in is one foot I guess
