@cspanofficial: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed Thursday his department is taking steps to put President Trump's face on a new $250 bill in commemoration of the country's 250th anniversary, but noted it would require an act of Congress.   "At present, no living person can be on U.S. currency, and the currency must say 'In God We Trust,'" he told reporters. "So right now, there is proposed legislation that is in front of the House, in front of the Senate, to change the first requirement so that a living person, Donald J. Trump, could be on the $250 bill."   The secretary also dismissed concerns about whether it was appropriate to push for a change in law so that President Trump's portrait could appear on the note.   "I don't think that there's anything untoward about having … the person who is president of the United States on the 250th anniversary bill," he said.   #trump #america250 #politics #money #cspan

I'm ok with trump on the $250 bill, as long as we don't change the part where living presidents can't be on currency
