I’m unfortunately verrrry prone to melanoma. I’ve had 12 melanoma’s. It’s ridiculous. I’m a medical mystery. Genetic testing was normal. I’m only 39 and had my first melanoma 20 years ago. I see the dermatologist every 6 weeks. My oncologist is trying everything in his power to slow the rate of them.

A medical assistant at a Dermatology Clinic x4 years. Had a pre-cancerous mole removed at 19. Didn’t follow up until 2023 (27 y/o) when I started at the Dermatology Clinic & was diagnosed with superficial melanoma. 6 month skin check after that, another pre-cancerous mole (I do have a family h/o melanoma as well)🥴🙃 I now preach wear sunscreen, protect your skin & get your skin checked 🫶🏻

It is scary. Our daughter had two sunburns in her life, not on my watch. She self diagnosed while in dental school. Her classmates made fun and called her a hypochondriac. Got it checked. It WAS melanoma. I told her never to invalids a patients feelings. She is skin cancer free. Will have to have checks for life.
