if its any consolation any paid summer schools aren't actually associated with the university, so they won't help you in any applications, and any teaching you'll get there will not be from the uni's professors and lecturers! they're basically just holidays for rich ppl to get an oxford experience. summer schools actually run by the uni are completely free :)
