Hinata becoming a housewife is entirely within her character. We have seen multiple times that she wanted to be with Naruto. Plus she comes from an important family. She probably was expected to marry to carry on the name but that also aligned with her goals as well.

Hinata was ALWAYS going to be a housewife. She's effectively nobility and would've been expected to marry in order to continue the main house bloodline, in marrying Naruto not only does she accomplish this she also gets to do it on her terms.
