🌿QUICK MULLEIN INFUSION FOR COUGH🌿 ✨My son has a cough, so I made a mullein infusion for him. ➡️PROCESS OF QUICK MULLEIN INFUSION⬅️ 1- I started by harvesting the leaves. I harvested the cleanest leaves that were free from debris, & not close to the ground. 2- Second, I closely inspected each leaf and removed any unwanted parts. Then, I used scissors to cut them up into smaller pieces. 3- Third, I weighed out 2 ounces, and lightly rinsed them in a strainer. 4- Next, I added the fresh mullein to a pot, and boiled a pint of distilled water in a separate pot. 5- When the water came to a boil, I poured it over the mullein, stirred it, and covered it. 6- Then, I left it covered and let it steep for 30 minutes. 7- Next, I used a fine mesh strainer to strain the liquid out, and used a heavy wooden spoon to press the leaves to extract as much pulp as possible. (Just from straining, my nose opened up and started running like crazy!!!) 8- Finally, I poured one cup into a mug and added a half cup of my homemade elderberry syrup! 🔆 This was the perfect remedy for my son’s cough. (He ended up drinking about half of the prepared mullein-elderberry infusion and I drank the rest.😁) 🌿 I added the remainder of the mullein infusion to a glass jar, covered tightly, and placed in the refrigerator. I will use it to make him more tomorrow. ✨ “Mullein is an expectorant, which means it helps the body expel excess mucus, usually by helping make your coughs more productive, to bring up mucus that may be settling in the chest or in the throat. It is also a demulcent. Studies show that demulcents create a soothing anti-inflammatory coating over mucous membranes.” (From Web:MD) ✨ It is also an anti-viral, which can help the body fight off viral infections that can be the underlying cause of cough, and other ailments. Mullein has many other potential benefits as well. It is such a powerful, but mild and tolerable herb! #mulleininfusion #mulleintea #mullein
