The race number isn’t always changing to 1 when they win the championship. It’s their choice. For example Lewis never changed his racing number

Correction on slide 10, the winner has an option to change to number 1 but it isn't mandatory. They can still continue with their number if they want to. Example, Hamilton using 44 even during his domination

I think the Drivers Championship winner can choose to drive under #1 but they don’t have to. I believe it changed in 2014 so Lewis is the only Champion to revert back to his chosen #44 while holding the title (slay 💅)
