I remember reading The Da Vinci Code when I was like 13 or so, and I was SO obsessed with Mary Magdalene’s story, it was one of my first massive hyperfixations. And it certainly helped shaping my own feminist path.

in Guatemala, during holy week, Mary Magdalene is part of the processions that walk the streets of the cities. her image is part of the entourage that accompanies Mother Mary's image. the other is John the apostle. processions are usually composed by Jesus with the Cross, Mary Magdalene, John and Mother Mary. this to say we are aware of her being a central figure.
