“Can I remarry after divorce? Is remarriage a sin?” This is one of the questions I receive most often. The answer to this question should not be based on human emotions, but on the Bible. Many people use the Bible like a stick to beat others with, but forget that the message Jesus preached also includes grace, mercy and freedom. So how does God really see your situation? First: Being betrayed was not your fault. If your spouse committed sexual immorality, or chose to leave you, the biblical principle is clear. In Matthew chapter 5, Jesus spoke about sexual immorality as an exception within marriage. According to the teaching of Scripture, if the other person was the one who broke the marriage covenant, you do not need to spend the rest of your life trapped in the past because of their betrayal. Second: God created marriage for our good, not to destroy us. If that marriage was filled for a long time with domestic violence, abuse and harm, and even caused you to lose hope for your own life, that is not what God originally intended marriage to be. Leaving a harmful situation is not a sin. It is protecting your life. Third: Your worth is not determined by your marriage history. In God’s eyes, you are not damaged goods. You are still His precious child. If you have truly repented and God is healing and restoring you, He is still able to lead your future. He is also able to prepare a marriage that truly brings glory to Him. If God can bring dry bones back to life, can He not restore a heart that has been broken? Please remember: The grace of the cross is enough to cleanse the past, including the brokenness you have experienced in marriage. Do not let other people’s criticism and condemnation speak louder than God’s guidance over your life. If you are still crying over the past, or you long to have a relationship in the future that is blessed by God, write in the comments: “Lord, heal me.” If you want to step out of the shadow of the past and learn how to rebuild your life according to biblical truth, please click the link in my bio or contact us through the WhatsApp number shown on the screen to join our online Bible study group. #christian #fyp #God #bible #amen🙏
