I'd been putting it off for so long. Trying not to think about it. Burying my head in the sand and hoping somehow I'd feel differently. Because I knew exactly what that conversation meant... It meant maternity leave was coming to an end. It meant going back to work. It meant missing moments I wasn't ready to miss. But I couldn't keep it to myself any longer. So I finally said it out loud... ‘I don't want to go back to work full-time just to pay for childcare’ 💔 I wasn't ready. I didn't want to rush back. I didn't want someone else getting all that extra time with my little girl while I was counting down the hours until home time. Honestly... I expected him to tell me we just had to be realistic. That it was what every family had to do. Instead he looked at me and said... “We'll find another way” Those four words changed everything. Because it gave me the kick I needed to actually start looking for other options! That's when I came across digital products and Canva. Things like planners, templates, invitations etc And what made it feel possible was realising I didn't have to create everything from scratch. I could start with ready-made products. Learn as I went. And build it around my life. Fast forward to now... I've been able to extend my maternity leave. Reduce my working hours. And build an extra income that actually fits around my girls 🥹 All because I finally said something out loud that I'd been too scared to admit for weeks.
