The fabric is terrible. I don't think they would have used that much lace. It would have been more likely silk or cotton. I'm fairly certain that a bias cut dress from the way it hangs and I'm not sure they were cutting on the bias in 1880.

I swear to God that costumer just ran to David's Bridal and grabbed the first thing off the rack. absolutely nothing about that gown says 1880s to me.

i do think the dress was ripped for an action scene, but as you said it’s just too off and missing too much 😭 they could’ve had an even cooler effect by her making a classic 1800s wedding dress “comfortable” without stripping the whole thing 💀💀
