its due to the car industry making the US car reliant. they have full rights on charging what ever price they want or else you spend hundreds on weekly transportation or rely on terrible public transportation. I've heard that mechanics charge a minimum of 200/hrs rate of labor at dealerships. like wtf? you telling me ONE mechanic makes more than 4 police officers combined?!?! More than 5 fire fighters COMBINED?!?!

Just because you paid $2,500 doesn’t mean they are going to fix everything that’s wrong with your car. What repairs did you approve and what repairs did you decline? Was your check engine light on prior to the repairs? Did you approve the repairs for the check engine light? Don’t complain about not getting more than you paid for. Automotive technicians don’t owe you anything.

you have to find a good shop they are out there look at online reviews ask your car enthusiast friends if they know any places and you'd be surprised how easy it is to do some work cars are just complicated Legos and there are youtube tutorials on almost every car related

Bro, don’t go to companies, if you live in a large city, you gotta find the automotive district in your area, where people run mechanic shops out of warehouses, where it’s ran by literally a single-family or by somebody’s father or son,

fix it yourself. parts aint cheap, and 200 an hour, atleast half that goes to the shop, not the tech. my shop i dont even get a quarter that.

Luckily I know a guy who does it for cheap, these shops not the most professional but it’s more like family vibe. I brought him my car thinking I need brakes cuz I heard a lot of noise turned out one of my drum brakes was just rly dirty inside & needed a clean.
