@chipleach: Universal healthcare. Would any of you in Canada, the UK, Denmark, Germany or any of the Nordic countries rather have the healthcare system we have in the United States? Or are you generally happy with your systems? #worldtok #healthcare #canada #germany #unitedkingdom
Universal healthcare is the standard in any first world country..

🇩🇪 I would sooner undergo a root canal without anesthesia than trade the German healthcare system for the American one.

I am a stage 4 cancer patient in Canada. And I am so glad we don’t have US style privatized health care. I am so grateful for universal healthcare and I have received amazing care in our system.

The NHS is far from perfect and there's plenty I'd change about it, but there is literally nothing in the world that would make me want us to move to the American system.

So if universal health care is so terrible, why does almost the whole world have it? No system is perfect, but not getting bankrupt just from being ill should be one of the best arguments for universal health care.

Sweden. Somrtimes people worry about their health. Noone worries about the cost of health care itself.

The US system is absolutely insane - the way it's currently set up in Germany isn't great but it absolutely could be so much worse.

absolutely fucking not. my local gp practice not only has doctors we also have a physio, a phlabotomist, a diabetic nurse, a mental health councillor and several prescribing nurse practitioners. we have an ambulance station and several off site clinics and services just along the road. there is also a 2nd gp practice next door. my towns population is 15,000.

Definitely NOT!!!! I agree NHS isn't perfect but it's pretty, damn good. I booked a telephone appointment on Sunday for the next day. He rang me before the appointment time and sent a prescription electronically/immediately after his preliminary diagnosis to my local pharmacy. He also booked to see me face to face the next day. At that appointment he booked another appointment for a fortnight later and will book me another one for a fortnight after that unless he is unhappy with my test results. in which case he'll refer me to hospital straight away. I haven't had to pay a single penny out of pocket. Even the antibiotic prescription was free as I'm over 60 years old, living in England.

Had heart bypass surgery on 30th January this year and I'm on holiday now in Spain having driven through France. We still have the house and the car and the entire procedure and all associated treatment cost us zero. Nada. Nothing.
