@stewartharding: I'm looking forward to enjoying some live music with my partner this evening. I can't remember the last time that I did the latter it's been so long, but it's something that I prefer doing over performing live. Not through shyness or a lack of confidence in my ability. I'm not shy in the slightest and I have full confidence in my ability, I just feel no desire to impress others like I did when I was in my 20s. People who question why I don't perform any more also overlook or aren't aware of the fact that performing live actually depleats a lot of your psychological and emotional energy, at least it does in my experience because when I perform live I put everything into the songs that I perform and as someone who trades the financial markets professionally I have to constantly be mindful of how much psychological energy I'm expending, what with trading being a predominantly psychological sport. Thankfully though there are still some who still get a kick out of performing live, so there's a least one pastime that we can all enjoy that the matrix haven't yet taken away from us.
