@perimenopause.app: 7 morning habits that changed everything for me (and my clients) in perimenopause 👇 If you're 40+ and your belly fat won't budge no matter how clean you eat or how hard you train, your mornings might be the missing piece. In perimenopause, cortisol is louder, insulin is more reactive, and your body holds onto belly fat as a protective response to stress. The good news: how you start your day directly tells your body whether to burn fat or store it. Here's what I do every single morning👇 1. Sunlight (or a sun lamp) in my eyes within 30 minutes of waking. Sets your circadian rhythm, regulates cortisol, and helps you sleep deeper at night. Deep sleep = belly fat loss. 2. Water with a pinch of sea salt before coffee. Rehydrates your adrenals after the overnight fast and prevents the cortisol spike caffeine causes on an empty stomach. 3. 5g of creatine in my morning water or coffee. One of the most evidence-backed supplements for women in perimenopause. Better muscle, brain, and energy. 4. 30g of protein within 2 hours of waking. Stabilizes blood sugar, kills the 3pm crash, and protects the muscle we lose in perimenopause. 5. A PFF breakfast (Protein, Fat, and Fiber). The trifecta that keeps blood sugar steady, hormones happy, and cravings off your back all day. 6. Move my body before noon. Strength training, a brisk walk, or zone 2 cardio. Morning movement improves insulin sensitivity for the rest of the day. 7. Hit 5,000 steps before lunch. Front-loading movement keeps cortisol low and burns fat before your day gets hijacked. None of these are extreme. None of them require more time. They just work WITH your hormones instead of against them. Save this for tomorrow morning and pick ONE to start. That's it.
