I love that he did this to save just one person. Showing the true nature of “look out for the little guy.” This shows that Superman will drop everything to save even just one person and THIS is what he is supposed to stand for.

I always love scenes where Supergirl or Superman hover between the ground and the horizon because they're the human vessel for the sun - not a godly, unreachable observer but a literally down to earth light in the dark.
