I’m able to recognize the sounds of footsteps and am able to determine if there are any negative emotions tied to the sounds of their footsteps. Also setting up and remembering every detail of your room before you leave it. Nobody taught me pattern recognition, I had to learn it for myself the hard way. Survival is valuable.

What I’ve come to learn.. is pattern recognition is extremely valuable.. but if you don’t have the metacognition to start connecting those patterns correctly, a lot of resentment can build. I’m busting through THICK walls I’ve built in pattern recognition (through trauma), but my metacognition is healing me.
