The strings are a layer from Omnisphere called Power Strings Wheel and Adagio Strings Warm. He left Power Strings Wheel as is, but on Adagio Sam turned the reverb off and pushed the attack up a bit - his own words. Maybe I should do a video on that set up. The real key however, is assigning those strings ONLY to an expression pedal. That is where the emotion lives. Strings are not percussive like piano. They are meant to breathe, SWELL, and evolve. So assigning it to the expression pedal allows you to do things like bringing them in after the chord hits or hold a chord and grow the emotion in real time.
