I'm glad I experienced very early in my career. Being promoted to a senior management position at very young age and losing it all shortly. Seeing how position inflated my ego and being nobody after that was psychological shock to me. now build it all up again but detached and tries to but my identity around other things as well

Random conversation at a social setting.. golf club and such: so what do you do? I am a banker.. an accountant.. I am in sales… etc. most of us will then proceed to state the company they work for and most times the conversation will then be about that company and not the person.

So true , I worked for company for one year , the company I worked for the brand wasn’t known I until i introduced the brand to the customer and the world so the company hit the target and budget , lately the company has decided to close off the door . So new company that took over never seen my value and I resigned immediately because my purpose was no longer valued 🥺🥺
