Always felt like Nietzsche would be disgusted with American politics on all sides and be something of a “radical centrist” if he lived in the United States today. He didn’t like Christianity, but weirdly enough modern day socialists in America have values that are much closer to Christian values than anything the Republicans are pretending is “Christianity” today. I fear there is very little intellectual honesty in modern day politics and politicians just say whatever they think will get them elected, not anything grounded in self-actualized morals. I think Nietzsche would be disgusted by it.

I think he would hate almost all of the modern political movements. But I think he would probably hate American politics as a whole the most.

He would hate the most those who are not self-critical and/or not committed to being honest with oneself. That is the philosophical disposition, to seek the truth at the expense of convenience.

Yet aristocratic radicalism instantiated in institutions and nation states would absolutely be seen as fascism to the average person 😆 ALSO, he wrote quite a bit on “ressentiment”, a concept without which one could not really even begin to understand modern leftism (most specifically of the American variety)
