When ice that is floating in water melts It does not raise the water level. BUT if you are comparing that to Antarctica it doesn’t apply. Antarctica is a continent and the ice on land is not already in the water. Also the ice sheets around it have drifting off it and while it is still attached it is not floating but cantilevering and therefore not in the water. This also applies to Iceland, Greenland and any other land based glaciers.

Water expands when it freezes, which means that as ice melts at the north pole or wherever, sea levels will go down.

It’s simple ice on land is water that is not in the ocean yet. Floating ice on the water is already water in the ocean.

Well my theory is, that even if land ice melts and joins the ocean, there is consrant evaporation taking place. The same becoming clouds causing rain and in some olaces Ice and then it all begins again. Perfect balance

dacă gheața se afla de la început în apă ea nu poate creste nivelul oceanului planetar,doar dacă gheața ar veni de pe o suprafață aflată deasupra nivelului oceanului planetar,atunci acea cantitate,teoretic ,ar putea crește nivelul oceanului planetar,dar nivelul de creștere ar fi infim!😏
