Same with Scandinavian letters. Ø is not a fancy O. It has a different sound, and using it wrongly in logos does not make a company seem elegant. It only looks stupid.

some of those aren't deltas, they're just triangles. If the thing they're advertising is Greek or Greek-inspired, etc. I think you can safely assume it's a delta. If nothing about the brand or object or movie is otherwise Greek, or Greek inspired, it's just a triangle.

To be fair, not all triangles are deltas. Sometimes it really is just a quirky font. Not much excuse if you pair it with other greek letter shapes though

it's the same with ß, like it's not a B, it makes a S sound so like for example I saw a post where someone came across this person whose username was Billy badass but it was spelled like ẞilly ẞadass so instead It actually said silly sadass

It’s not just greek, it’s like that with any alphabet with different characters/letters than we use. From someone who also speaks a language that uses a separate alphabet
