Hardest decisions now, makes for an easier life for longer, this is true for both your mental and physical health. But doubly true for your financial well being. Ignore the comments and keep educating

Yep, ditto. We have had 4 Children and because we wanted to enjoy eating out, we went out to eat at least once a week with the children - which later in life I look upon as a massive waste of money. It’s stressful and expensive eating out with a large family, we would have been better off going out less frequently alone and saving the cash.

One thing I’m grateful I did was always contribute to my pension from my 20s even if it was the lowest amount possible during my 30s because of the cost of children. Now in my 40s and bumped up my contributions. Wish I’d done more when I was younger but glad at least I did something.
