People are judging Ray's entire character off one situation without looking at the full context. It was Madi's friend, so why wasn't Madi expected to pay? Everyone is focused on Ray's wallet instead of who's actually responsible.
Madi's friend didn't have money and decided he wasn't going to eat. Punga said, "If everybody's eating, you're eating too." The friend still said he doesn't like taking things from other people. Ray acknowledged that he knew he was hungry and needed to eat. Punga then said it wasn't about taking things from other people. After that, Ray said, "Yeah, Punga, pay for his food." Punga responded that he already said that and then turned it into a discussion about principles and being blessed.
Ray then said he'd pay for the food himself and pointed out that he was already paying for Geo and Bobby's food. Even after all that, the friend still didn't want anything.
People keep saying Ray changed because he's rich now. If one meal shows his true colors, then shouldn't all the times he's helped people count too? There are plenty of clips of him buying food and things for the Clover boys, DoorDashing people food, and paying when they go out.
We also don't know what's going on behind the cameras. Ray could feel like he's getting used, for all we know. People keep calling him stingy while ignoring situations that show the opposite.
For example, when Ray, Reem, Kaleel, Punga, three of Punga's friends, and Punga's cameraman went out for Korean BBQ, Punga, his three friends, and the cameraman left without paying after they ate. One of the friends offered Ray money, but Ray told him they were good. After the bill came out to over $600, Kaleel and Reem didn't want to pay either, so Ray paid the bill himself, showed the receipt on stream, and tipped $126, bringing the total to over $700. People also forget that he helped Tota get his Adidas deal.
Ray also has a language barrier, which makes it harder for him to explain himself. People are leaving out a lot of important context and judging Ray's entire character off one clipped moment. If one meal shows his true colors, then all the times he's helped people should count too.
