For ppl in the comment section claiming the Cortadillo cake is the dot cake, just know The plain European style sponge cake arrived in the 1500s/1600s from the colonizers you all hate. but the signature “pink with lots of sprinkles” Cortadillo that people are claiming as a unique Mexican invention is a much later adaptation probably popularized in the 1900s. Mostly likely 1930s-50s It’s not an ancient indigenous or early colonial creation. You guys did not create frosting with sprinkles ..The English Tottenham cake proceeded the Cortadillo cake by decades.hope this helps 👍
