This is exactly what happened to me. Worked sincerely for 35 years only to see my junior getting higher bonus and increment than me. This was deliberately done so that I would leave. I was stupid enough to stay on.

Left my job of 10 years because of all the reasons listed here. A girl got promoted after two years for a position that I have been asking for which was never posted. Then they announced to our group via email if anyone was interested in a second role (same position) after a year as the company grew knowing I would be interested. I got the role but asked them why this one had to be announced instead of giving it to me like the other girl. They said per HR, it had to be “fair”. Needless to say, I worked there for another year. Left that job, got paid more elsewhere with flexible hours, and only having to go in-office two days a week. The only regret is never believing in myself that I could do better!

Iv been at my company for 9years and 10 months & watched Everyman and his dog come in and leave on a bad note, Every time A pay rise came, I never got one just a $100 gift card. They put me last and call me first when shit hits the fan and that hurt So I discreetly opened 3 of my own businesses with the help of AI that work hand in hand with products we sell and my bosses company buys my products heavily to sell again. My business is booming and the only reason I have not left in 2 months my good colleague retires who has heart problems. I don’t want to leave him when he’s done I’m handing in my resignation.

That happened to me. My colleague got promoted simply because he had a year more seniority than I did, even though his performance was poor. He could barely do his job properly. After that, I resigned. The company ended up hiring three additional employees just to handle the workload I used to manage.
