@mindfulnessandmimosas: Disgust isn’t a negative emotion; sometimes, it’s a survival mechanism. 🕊️ When your central nervous system finally shifts from the pain of betrayal to pure repulsion, that is your body choosing to protect you from the threat. The sadness stops when the reality of their character finally sets in. #HealingJourney #womensupportingwomen
The only way you can get to the point of disgust is by having no contact with the person. It frees your mind to evaluate the person for who they truly are without being blinded by your emotions. Once you do this, you'll be amazed at what you put up with.

Yes! I didn’t fall out of love right away, but I immediately lost all respect for him. That eventually turned to disgust, and I swear it was SO freeing to finally feel this way.

For me the turning point was reaching "meh". It was arriving at the point where I remembered the betrayal but I just didn't love or hate them anymore, I was indifferent. They weren't worth thinking about with disgust, they weren't even worth that much energy

He told me he pursued her. But I’m still here crying every day. I long for the day when I reach this stage, because the life and love I’m mourning wasn’t real
