My autism chow is chili, either homemade or Wendy’s chili that I pair with rice and whatever loaded salad I feel like eating

Sadly I have the type of autism where leftovers are hard for me because the texture has changed so I don’t usually like it.

if I have no energy for anything and nothing sounds good sometimes I'll make a cup of noodles but I'll add a packet of bone broth with protein and a scoop of benefiber

never underestimate the power of chili, beef stew, and pretty much any one pot meal you can batch and eat several times.

I struggle with texture a lot. Especially fruit as a lot is really squishy

hey any tips for getting more fiber and vitamins as someone who hates plant texture? I have ARFID and my brain tells me I'm eating plastic whenever I'm eating a plant, Ive been blending stuff into sauces but I feel like I'm losing nutritional value like that

My AuDHD does not let me eat the same dishes more than a couple times in a row, and I struggle with leftovers if I cannot explicitly remember how long it's been in the fridge.

Souper cubes and Tetris meals have been a lifesaver for me. On a good day I prep and freeze then I have a variety of safe meals ready in the freezer that I pull out and reheat.

Cottage cheese, it’s safe mouth feel. Can add it to something or just eat it. It’s protein and not expensive cause it keeps in the fridge for a while. It’s my safe food.

unfortunately ground meat is a huge sensory no-no for me 😭 I have to swap it out for shredded chicken and that doesn't always work for every recipe

I wanna eat more vegetables but thanks to my autism I have a weird aversion to them, mostly cooked peppers, and it's always random with either taste, texture, look, etc. Does anyone have any tips on how to get over myself so I can eat more veggies?

I make a big bowl of pasta salad with tons of veggies and protein each week, it’s my lunch each day and dinner on days where “I just can’t” 😅😂

I call them my slop pots lol. Some sort of rice or noodle, protein, veggies, a bunch of seasoning and cheese. I really like Mac and cheese with kielbasa and peas.

honestly making soup or chili is a great option cuz you can make a lot of it for not super expensive. it's fairly healthy and it reheats well.

I have ADHD and depression. super fun combo. I started doing a weekly meal prep in 2020 and it helps immensely. I make one giant batch on Sunday, divide it into containers for each meal, and eat that for the work week. all I have to do is heat it up.

bell peppers, onions, beans and corn always go hard no matter what meats and spices you pair with them.
