I’m a big music lover and I don’t think it’s strictly haram personally, however I can recognise since reverting that the Quran and music can’t live in my head at the exact same time, so it’s definitely a distraction in that respect. Also depending on the lyrics I think subconsciously it’s easy to normalise haram things if you’re always hearing about them. Thirdly, as many African cultures recognise, certain drum patterns can put people into a trance like state and they’re used in rituals etc, considering what type of people own and run the music industry, I don’t think it’s bad advice to be conscious of that stuff, especially when you see people like Sam Smith dressing up as a woman or a devil

music & makeup is not haram, if its not in Quran it's an innovation, its that simple. It's all about your heart, how you treat people, kindness, respect, gratitude, sincerity. Your relationship with Allah is yours alone. You don't need to explain yourself to anyone. Block out all that outside noise. The only hadith in Islam is Quran, the rest weitten by random men who basically can say whatever they want & attribute it to God. Only God makes legislation, hence why in many verses he warns of reading anything beyond Quran. Nowadays people put hadith books above Quran, the only book Prophet Muhammad ever knew was Quran. According to Allah, the prophet & his companions followed the Sunnah of Allah 33:38, the only Sunnah mentioned in Quran over a dozen times. By following only Quran you will not be misguided🫶

People really need to stop blindly believing everything in man made books (the Hadith) and follow the Quran alone. Muslim scholars like to follow the words of men instead of the words of God that’s why they are confused in religion and say things that are most definitely not true. People are more worried about girls wearing makeup or listening to music yet they commit the most major sin (shirk) themeselves yet they are blind to it. Listening to music and makeup are minor sins and these sins does not mean u are thrown into hellfire. So everyone please do not blindly believe everything Muslim scholars teach because they may not even teach the real teachings of the Quran and Islam❤️.
